About The Designer

Hello, I'm Ingrid Pouwels, also known as Ponki, the creative force behind Ponkis. I founded Ponkis in 2023 with one goal in mind: to create beautiful dresses because it's fun and there's nothing in life more satisfying than making people around you happy with your talents.

My journey into the world of fashion began long before my formal education. Growing up, I was fortunate to learn the basics of sewing from my mom, who instilled in me a deep love for the craft. Those early lessons sparked a passion that has only grown stronger over the years.

I went on to study Clothing Retail Management at the University of Pretoria, where I honed my skills and deepened my understanding of the industry. But my true love has always been design and sewing, a passion that drives me to create unique, stunning pieces for every occasion.

At Ponki's, I pour my heart into every creation, striving to bring joy and confidence to my clients. Whether it's a wedding dress, an outfit for a special event, or an everyday piece, each garment is crafted with care, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
